What does it mean to “Archive” a Poll?

By default, your BallotBox home page will list your launched but not yet active, active, and closed polls.  (Each organization’s BallotBox home page is in the format, https://organization.BallotBoxOnline.com.)  To prevent a poll from being listed there while it is launched but not yet active, and while it is active, you must mark it as private on its Settings tab.   (You can change this poll visibility setting before the poll is launched, or while it is active.)

To prevent a poll that is now closed from being listed, you have two options:

  • Delete it – which means you cannot access its questions, voter list, or officer list, for future polls, or
  • Archive it – which means it’s still listed in your account for Admins to see, but voters and Officers will not see it anymore

Archived polls can eventually be purged by BallotBox to free up storage space, but we will not do that without notifying you and giving you an opportunity to make an offline copy of that information.
