When BallotBox skips voters you are trying to import into your ballot

When you import voters into a poll, BallotBox may report that some of your voters were skipped.   To get ballots to these skipped voters, please follow these steps:

  1. Before you import the voters who were not skipped, click the Download XX Skipped Voters button.  (XX will be the number of voters who were skipped.)
  2. Click the Import YY Voters (XX skipped) button, to import the YY voters who were not skipped.
  3. Using a spreadsheet application (such as Microsoft Excel) on your computer or tablet, open the downloaded file of skipped voters. Address each voter's problem, which will be listed next to him or her in the file.
    • You may need to add missing information, such as missing email addresses.
    • If voters have duplicate information that is required to be unique (such as duplicate email addresses), you will need to obtain unique data for each voter.
    • If multiple voters commonly share an email address, and do not have separate email addresses, they will need to set up separate email addresses for the purpose of voting in BallotBox.  You may want to suggest a free email such as Gmail.com or Outlook.com.
  4. Save the corrected spreadsheet of skipped voters as a Comma Separated Value (.csv) file to your computer or tablet.
  5. Import the corrected .CSV file into that same poll in BallotBox.  Be sure you select the "Add or update voters" option at the bottom of that window so that you do not delete the voters you uploaded in Step 2.
