Can we use BallotBox even though we don’t have good email addresses for our voters?

To cast a ballot in BallotBox, each voter will need a valid email address.  That is the primary way BallotBox authenticates each voter – ensuring with reasonable certainty that we can know who the person is who cast that ballot.

For a voter to get a ballot link, BallotBox must have a valid email address for that voter.

If you do not have valid email address for a voter:

  • You can contact that person by telephone or in person, or through other means, and ask her to provide a valid email address to you before you launch your online poll.  You can also do that during the voting period, and edit the voter’s email address on the Voters tab of the poll.
  • If you are a Platinum customer, you can use our VoterSignUp service.
